Sewa

Self Employed Womens’ Organization is a trade union registered in 1972. An organization of impoverished, self-employed women workers, SEWA prioritizes the organization of women workers for full employment, by providing supportive services like savings and credit, health care, child care, insurance, legal aid, capacity building and communication services.

barefoot college

The founder of Barefoot College, Bunker Roy,, states that his mission is to redefine professionalism, as he started this as the first college for the empowerment of rural people. Through the fields of education, skill development, health, drinking water, women empowerment and electrification through solar power, Barefoot College dedicates itself to sustainable development in Indian communities.

AVANI’s primary focus is on high-risk industries like brickyard and sugarcane factories where migrant and child laborers are employed. Through courageous action and advocacy the AVANI team has been highly successful in motivating families and the brickyard owners to stop sending children to work, having now reduced child labor in the region’s brickyards by 95%.

tarun bharat sangh

Founded by Dr. Rajendra Singh, Tarun Bharat Sangh started their work with mobilizing communities around the issue of water, and supporting them in reviving and revitalizing the traditional systems of water management. Now, TBS’ focus rests upon access to water by rejuvenation of water resources, tackling issues like human and wildlife conflicts, and combating the mining mafias for the benefit of the local community.
